Almost 6 months in and I am so far behind. It's amazing how you think you have all the time in the world and before you know it, time's up.
The one item on the list I had nailed was 30 minutes of exercise every damn day. I got in the daily habit of running home from work or doing yoga first thing. On days I did neither, I'd grab my hula hoop for a quick 30. Between the yoga and my magic shoes, all my PT issues disappeared. And then Christmas Vacation happened. Too many days off and my routine was gone. After one month of only a handful of yoga sessions, my low back was tight, my left glute had a knot the size of Texas and my right hip felt like a knife was stabbing into it after 20 minutes of running. In other words, yet again I was a hot mess who couldn't run with a race only one month away. And still...I didn't restart a regular yoga practice. Procrastination sucks. Now I'm only two weeks out from Antelope Canyon 55km and I'm not running. I can only hope that yoga at least 5 days a week leading up to race day will swing things back in my favour. Throw in one more needling session and a lot of KT Tape and hopefully I'll be good to go. Worse case, it's a long hike with gorgeous views and random sand angels. And a #teamnuun meetup!! And there's those 3 days recovery in Vegas.
My massage therapist said to me, "If you can break a habit once, you can break a habit twice." So today I recommit to my workout challenge. Only now to make up for lost time I'm upping it to at least one hour every damn day.
